The Board of Elections will process absentee ballots received for the 11/3/2020 General Election early.  Ballots will be processed and scanned but will not be tabulated (counted) until after the polls close on election night.  Please click below to view the intent document filed with the SOS office and also published in the 10/1/2020 edition of the Upson Beacon (Legal Organ).

Responsibilities

The Upson County Elections/Registrars Office is set up to handle all of the needs concerning voter registration for Upson County and the City of Thomaston. The office also carries out other duties that include but are not limited to the following:

  • Absentee Voting by mail
  • Advance Voting
  • Campaign Contribution Disclosure Statements
  • Candidate Qualification Procedures
  • Financial Disclosure Statements
  • Issuance of Photo Identification Cards (for Voting Purposes Only)
  • Voter Precinct Assignment Verification
  • Voter Registration List Maintenance
